So I was reading an article that talked about the BBC licensing fees - what British people pay yearly for access to the BBC. There was a little detail in there that caught my eye, and I don't know what to make of it:
"The cost of the licence fee is set by the government. It is free for people over 75 and half-price for those registered blind."
Why half?
...Oh.

Maybe it's because the blind can only listen...?
And being blind can be a bonus when Eddie Izzard is on the telly....
I was thinking it is because they can only listen and not see too.
Sarcasm doesn't transfer well on the internet. I just thought it was a bit crazy that the BBC only charges half because the blind can only get half the entertainment value...
And hey! Don't insult my comedic hero!
LOL!
Well, anyways, enjoy Eddie Izzard tomorrow. I am so jealous- here I am studying away for finals (which start next week) and you get to go see Eddie Izzard. I am still waiting for the postal canoe...
And thanks for the birthday wishes =)
Really? No mail yet? Maybe it got lost... that's rather ridiculous.
